🚨 DISTRICT SPEECH RESULTS 🚨
MYAH SANLEY PLACED 3RD IN POETRY, qualifying her for D1 State Speech on Saturday, March 28th!!!!
We had several other events that made it to finals, and they performed the best rounds they have all season. Unfortunately, speech is so subjective, and sometimes your best still isn't what the judges are looking for. We're still incredibly proud of them!

While the competition season might be over for some, Myah and the coaches will still be working hard for the next two weeks as she prepares for State. Coach Fieldgrove and I are extremely sad to say goodbye to the team, but this was our best season yet. We loved every minute of it.

High School JAG students visited with Dani Koch, the JAG Data Manager, about the career field of Data.
Think of a career in data like being a professional puzzle solver! 🧩 Today we explored the booming world of data analytics, where you turn messy numbers into clear stories to help businesses make smart choices. You don't need a specific "data degree" to start; you can combine a subject you love, like psychology, with some tech skills to find your niche. It’s not just about math or coding—it’s about being organized and explaining "techy" findings in plain English so everyone can understand. We also learned that AI is a powerful tool that helps you work faster, and mastering it alongside your other skills is the best way to land a great job in the future! 🚀💻

7th grade JAG students visited with the JAG Data Manager, Dani Koch, and learned that stereotypes are just brain shortcuts, but they don't define who we are or what we can achieve. We explored the brain science showing that there is very little evidence of significant differences between male and female brains, as most differences actually stem from how we are raised. We also discussed "Stereotype Threat" and how the fear of confirming a negative label can hold us back, but simply being aware of it is the first step to beating it.
From data analysis to childcare, we believe that STEM and all career paths should be open to everyone regardless of gendered expectations. At the end of the day, we’re all just people trying to learn! Thanks, Dani, for visiting our classroom!
