On Thursday, JAG middle and high school students attended the Osceola fire department’s monthly meeting to personally deliver the appreciation cards and posters they created as part of our First Responder Appreciation Project.

JAG President Myah Sanley shared with the firefighters about our project, explaining how students worked together to create and collect cards and posters as a way to recognize and thank local first responders. Ashton Merry, Dylan Merry, and Reagan Nutz also represented JAG at the meeting and helped deliver the students’ work.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, dedication, and energy our local first responders give to our community to help keep us safe. This project gave our students an opportunity to put their leadership, teamwork, communication, and service skills into action while showing appreciation to the people who serve our community.

I am so proud of our JAG students for their initiative, hard work, and willingness to give their time to make this project happen. It was especially meaningful to see them take the time to personally thank our local firefighters and see their project come full circle. ❤️🚒

Osceola Public School’s Student Council invites you to join us for the Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 2, 2026. All are welcome to register for the parade. Each entry will be announced during the parade. Registration forms are due by Monday, September 28 (can drop off at high school office or email completed form to Ms. Mumm).

Today, High School JAG students had the opportunity to visit Northeast Community College in Norfolk! Students learned about the many resources and services available to support them throughout their college experience and heard directly from current college students about the transition from high school to college, the challenges that come with greater independence, and the positive opportunities that college provides while working toward a degree. Students also toured campus, including a typical residence hall room, the student union, study areas, and the library. They explored the dining hall and enjoyed having a variety of lunch options to choose from while experiencing a small part of daily college life. 🎓 Fun Fact: You don’t have to wait until junior or senior year to start exploring college! Early college visits can help students become familiar with their options, understand what college life is really like, and begin thinking about their future well before it’s time to make a decision. Thank you to Northeast Community College for welcoming our JAG students and giving them an opportunity to explore what their future could look like!
