2018 Girls Track & Field

The girls have been working hard lately. The track team has seven girls: Sam Hays, Kylee Bockman, Emily Theis, Makenzie Pinney, Mollie Rathjen, Olivia Drozd, and Kylie Johnston. On March 19, a former successful track athlete from Osceola, Gordie Coffin, talked to the track team about important traits that determine success. Those four traits include desire, diligence, discipline, and dependence. In order to be successful, the track team learned that you have to have the desire to achieve a goal, diligence to turn that goal into reality, discipline to stay focused on what you are trying to accomplish, and dependence on your teammates, coaches, and the community to help along the way. Every day at practice the girls have been running the “Bulldog 400.” Every girl runs 400 meters and will continue every practice until four girls run it in 67 seconds or less. Their first track meet at Concordia University went well, despite the tough competition. Before every meet, each girl picks three goals that they would like to accomplish during the meet, and three ways that they are going to reach that goal. The girls hope to see some familiar faces in the stands to cheer them on throughout the remainder of the season.

Upcoming Track Meets:

April 19-@ Genoa

April 24- @ Shelby

April 28- CRC @ Osceola
