Semester Two Counselor News

Seniors - it is your last semester of high school! Some things you need to be doing:

    1. Apply for scholarships.

    2. Decide what you are doing after high school.

    3. Apply for scholarships.

    4. File your FAFSA, if you haven't done so already.

    5. Get financial aid letters together in a folder.

    6. Order transcripts from Dr. C. for all of your scholarship applications.

    7. Apply for scholarships.

    8. Watch your college email accounts for roommate selection, dorm sign-up, and other important information. The colleges will NOT send the school anything.

    9. Pay your deposits.

    10. Apply for scholarships.

    11. Finish your last semester strong!!! Get good grades!!! Work hard!!!

Juniors - time to start thinking about your future after high school

    1. Start studying for the ACT in April. You all have accounts on OnToCollege.com. Talk to Dr. C. if you need more help or information. It is important you do well on this exam.

    2. Apply for Boys and Girls State through the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, respectively. This is an important leadership experience that sets you apart from others.

Sophomores - I still do not have anyone signed up for HOBY, which is a sophomore leadership experience in June. See Dr. C. if you are interested.

Sophomores and Juniors - There are a couple STEM summer camps with Peter Kiewit Institute that are very worthwhile to attend. If you are at all interested in engineering or conservation/natural resources, contact Dr. C. for more information.

Everyone - Nebraska Leadership Seminar applications will be coming out soon. If you are interested, see Dr. C. As soon as I have the application, I will get it to you.
